All in a Day's Work

Last day of January 2012.... This month we focused on new fabric design and construction.  The looms get "dressed" and "undressed" repeatedly as we change warp colors, draws (the order in which yarn is threaded through the heddles on the loom) and sett (how densely or loosely the warp threads are placed together.) Dressing the loom can be very tedious, especially when it's an all day process involving 500 different ends (threads) each threaded through an individual heddle on the loom.  Good to have some help or at least some warm fur to keep me company!

Our late winter/early spring shows are coming up soon:
February 22-26 American Craft Council Show, Baltimore Convention Center, Baltimore MD
March 23-25 CraftBoston, World Trade Center, Seaport Blvd. Boston MA
April 18-22 Smithsonian Craft Show, National Building Museum, Washington DC
